Travel Insurance Policy & Disclaimer

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

Trip Eighteen Golf LLC, doing business as Trip18 ("Trip18," "we," "us," or "our"), strongly recommends that every traveler purchase comprehensive travel insurance appropriate for their individual circumstances and travel arrangements.

Travel involves financial commitments and risks that may be outside the control of both the traveler and Trip18. Travel insurance may provide financial protection when certain unexpected events affect your trip.

This Travel Insurance Policy & Disclaimer explains Trip18's position regarding travel insurance and the traveler's responsibility for selecting and purchasing appropriate coverage.

1. Travel Insurance Is Strongly Recommended

Trip18 strongly recommends purchasing comprehensive travel insurance as soon as possible after making your initial trip deposit or payment.

Depending on the policy selected, travel insurance may provide coverage for circumstances such as:

  • Trip cancellation

  • Trip interruption

  • Trip delay

  • Medical emergencies

  • Emergency medical treatment

  • Emergency evacuation

  • Repatriation

  • Lost baggage

  • Delayed baggage

  • Missed connections

  • Certain weather-related events

  • Certain illness or injury

  • Certain family emergencies

  • Other covered events specified by the insurance policy

Coverage varies substantially between insurance providers and policies.

2. Travel Insurance Is Generally Not Included

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing for a specific Trip18 experience, travel insurance is not included in the price of your Trip18 package.

Purchasing travel insurance is the traveler's responsibility.

The cost of insurance is separate from amounts paid to Trip18 for travel arrangements, tournament participation, accommodations, golf, transportation, activities, or other services.

3. Trip18 Is Not an Insurance Company

Trip18 is not an insurance company and does not underwrite insurance coverage.

Unless specifically disclosed otherwise, Trip18 does not determine:

  • Whether a claim is covered

  • Whether a claim will be approved

  • The amount an insurer will pay

  • Whether a particular circumstance qualifies as a covered event

  • Whether exclusions apply

  • Whether pre-existing conditions are covered

  • Whether a traveler meets eligibility requirements

All coverage determinations and claims decisions are made by the applicable insurance provider according to the terms of the policy purchased.

4. Insurance Information Provided by Trip18

Trip18 may occasionally provide travelers with information about third-party travel insurance providers or make an insurance option available during or after the booking process.

Any such information is provided as a convenience.

Travelers are responsible for reviewing available insurance options and determining whether a particular policy is appropriate for their needs.

The availability of an insurance option through Trip18 does not constitute a guarantee that the policy provides adequate coverage for every traveler or circumstance.

5. Read Your Insurance Policy Carefully

Travel insurance policies contain specific:

  • Coverage limits

  • Eligibility requirements

  • Covered reasons

  • Exclusions

  • Deductibles

  • Claim procedures

  • Documentation requirements

  • Purchase deadlines

  • Pre-existing condition provisions

  • Cancellation requirements

  • Geographic limitations

Travelers should carefully review the complete insurance policy before purchasing coverage.

Questions regarding coverage should be directed to the insurance provider or a properly licensed insurance professional.

6. Trip Cancellation Coverage

Trip cancellation insurance may reimburse certain prepaid, non-refundable travel expenses if a traveler must cancel for a reason specifically covered by the policy.

Not every reason for cancelling a trip is covered.

Travelers should not assume that purchasing standard travel insurance gives them the right to cancel for any reason.

The Trip18 Cancellation & Refund Policy continues to apply regardless of whether a traveler purchases travel insurance.

7. Cancel For Any Reason Coverage

Some insurance providers may offer optional Cancel For Any Reason ("CFAR") coverage.

CFAR coverage is different from standard trip cancellation insurance and may:

  • Require purchase within a limited period after the initial trip payment

  • Require insurance of specified prepaid trip costs

  • Require cancellation a specified period before departure

  • Reimburse only a percentage of covered prepaid costs

  • Be unavailable to certain travelers or in certain jurisdictions

Travelers interested in greater cancellation flexibility should investigate CFAR coverage promptly after making their initial Trip18 reservation.

Trip18 does not guarantee the availability or suitability of CFAR coverage.

8. Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

Travel insurance policies may limit or exclude coverage relating to pre-existing medical conditions.

Some policies may offer a pre-existing condition exclusion waiver when insurance is purchased within a specified period following the initial trip payment and other eligibility requirements are satisfied.

Travelers concerned about pre-existing conditions should review this issue carefully with the insurance provider before purchasing a policy.

Trip18 does not determine whether a condition qualifies as pre-existing for insurance purposes.

9. Medical Coverage Outside Your Home Country

Travelers should not assume that their existing health insurance provides coverage outside their home country.

Some domestic health insurance plans provide limited or no coverage internationally.

Trip18 strongly recommends that travelers verify their existing medical coverage and consider travel medical insurance when appropriate.

Travelers should specifically consider coverage for:

  • Emergency medical treatment

  • Hospitalization

  • Prescription medications

  • Emergency dental treatment

  • Medical transportation

  • Emergency evacuation

  • Repatriation

10. Emergency Medical Evacuation

Emergency medical evacuation can be extremely expensive, particularly when traveling internationally or participating in activities in remote areas.

Trip18 strongly recommends reviewing whether your travel insurance provides adequate emergency evacuation and repatriation coverage.

This consideration may be particularly important for Trip18 experiences involving fishing, boating, remote destinations, adventure activities, or travel in areas where specialized medical care may not be immediately available.

11. Golf Equipment and Baggage

Golf travelers should consider whether their insurance provides adequate coverage for:

  • Golf clubs

  • Golf bags

  • Rangefinders

  • Golf equipment

  • Personal baggage

  • Lost baggage

  • Delayed baggage

  • Damaged baggage

Airline liability for lost or damaged baggage may be limited.

Travelers with valuable golf equipment should review applicable coverage limits carefully.

12. Golf Tournament Participation

Travel insurance does not necessarily provide coverage because a traveler is unable to participate in a golf tournament.

For example, insurance may not cover situations involving:

  • Handicap disputes

  • Tournament disqualification

  • Failure to satisfy eligibility requirements

  • Voluntary withdrawal

  • Poor golf course conditions

  • Changes in tee times

  • Changes in pairings

  • Tournament format changes

Coverage depends entirely on the applicable insurance policy and circumstances.

13. Fishing and Adventure Activities

Certain Trip18 experiences may include:

  • Offshore fishing

  • Boating

  • Water activities

  • Adventure excursions

  • Hiking

  • Other recreational activities

Some insurance policies exclude or restrict coverage for particular sports, recreational activities, destinations, or circumstances.

Travelers participating in these activities should verify that their selected insurance provides appropriate coverage.

14. Weather and Natural Events

Travel insurance may provide coverage for certain weather-related events, but coverage varies significantly.

Travelers should review how the selected policy addresses:

  • Hurricanes

  • Tropical storms

  • Severe weather

  • Flooding

  • Earthquakes

  • Volcanic activity

  • Natural disasters

  • Airport closures

  • Transportation interruptions

The existence of bad weather does not automatically mean an insurance claim will be covered.

15. Government Restrictions and Other Major Events

Coverage for events such as government travel restrictions, border closures, epidemics, pandemics, civil disturbances, strikes, terrorism, or other extraordinary circumstances depends on the specific insurance policy.

Travelers should not assume that all force majeure events are insured.

16. Supplier Insolvency or Default

Some travel insurance policies may provide limited protection if certain travel suppliers become insolvent or cease operations.

Other policies may specifically exclude supplier financial default.

Travelers concerned about supplier insolvency should review whether their selected policy provides this type of protection.

17. Airline Disruptions

Trip18 generally does not control airline transportation.

Travelers should consider coverage for circumstances including:

  • Flight cancellations

  • Significant delays

  • Missed connections

  • Baggage delays

  • Additional accommodation expenses

  • Additional transportation expenses

Coverage will depend on the policy and the reason for the disruption.

18. Purchasing Insurance Promptly

Certain insurance benefits may only be available when a policy is purchased within a limited period following the traveler's initial trip deposit or payment.

These may include benefits relating to:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions

  • Cancel For Any Reason coverage

  • Supplier financial default

  • Other time-sensitive benefits

For this reason, Trip18 recommends evaluating and purchasing travel insurance promptly after making your first payment.

19. Insurance Cost

Travel insurance premiums are separate from Trip18 package prices unless expressly stated otherwise.

Premiums may be based on factors including:

  • Traveler age

  • Trip cost

  • Destination

  • Length of travel

  • Coverage selected

  • State or country of residence

  • Other underwriting or pricing factors determined by the insurance provider

Trip18 does not control insurance premiums established by independent insurance providers.

20. Filing an Insurance Claim

Travelers are responsible for filing claims directly with their insurance provider.

Trip18 may, when reasonably possible, provide documentation relating to a Trip18 reservation that the traveler needs for an insurance claim.

This may include:

  • Booking confirmations

  • Payment records

  • Cancellation documentation

  • Trip invoices

  • Information concerning unused Trip18 services

Trip18 cannot guarantee that documentation will result in approval of an insurance claim.

21. Insurance Claims Do Not Modify Trip18's Cancellation Policy

Purchasing travel insurance does not change the terms of the Trip18 Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Refunds from Trip18 will be determined according to the applicable cancellation terms.

Any additional recovery available through travel insurance is determined separately by the insurance provider.

Travelers should not expect Trip18 to provide a refund solely because an insurance claim is denied.

22. Declining Travel Insurance

A traveler may choose not to purchase travel insurance unless coverage is specifically required for a particular Trip18 experience.

By declining recommended travel insurance, the traveler accepts the financial risks associated with cancellation, interruption, medical emergencies, travel delays, lost baggage, and other circumstances that might otherwise have been eligible for insurance coverage.

The Trip18 Cancellation & Refund Policy will continue to apply.

23. No Guarantee of Coverage

Trip18 makes no representation or guarantee that a particular insurance policy will cover any specific event, loss, expense, medical condition, cancellation, interruption, or claim.

The insurance contract is between the traveler and the applicable insurance provider.

The terms and conditions of the insurance policy control all questions concerning coverage.

24. Traveler Responsibility

Each traveler is responsible for evaluating their own insurance needs based on factors including:

  • Destination

  • Trip cost

  • Health insurance coverage

  • Personal circumstances

  • Activities included in the trip

  • Value of golf equipment and baggage

  • Cancellation risk

  • Medical evacuation needs

  • Existing insurance coverage

Coverage appropriate for one traveler may not be appropriate for another.

25. Relationship to Other Trip18 Policies

This Travel Insurance Policy & Disclaimer should be read together with:

  • Trip18 Terms & Conditions

  • Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Travel & Booking Policy

  • Privacy Policy

The applicable Trip18 Cancellation & Refund Policy remains in effect whether or not travel insurance is purchased.
